Based in Knocknacarra in Galway and running for over 15 years FUNKY DRUMS is Galway’s largest and most popular Drumkit school and the best place to come to really learn how to play and Rock out on this fantastic instrument! Set in a Custom built professionally fully sound-proofed Studio, FUNKY DRUMS Classes are taught as Group Classes which reduces the cost a lot as compared to private lessons and take place in groups of 4 where each student has their own Drumkit to play on : the only place in Galway with this type of set-up! Group Classes are brilliant fun and a great social outlet and really helps develop the music sensibilities of grooving and playing while listening to others. All ages and levels are catered for from young kids aged 7+ to Teenage Classes all the way up to Adult Drumkit Classes.

FUNKY DRUMS believes in the power of drumming for building confidence , coordination and movement. There's just something about playing the drums and the feeling of being in full flight on a kit, lost in the groove that is such a unique and powerful feeling! Playing and learning music is just fantastic for the mind and learning the drums is a deeply satisfying and rewarding journey every step of the way! The Group Classes offer a great social outlet too and there are live performance gigs every year that are just the cherry on top. An annual Live Rock Concert where all students perform live on stage with a professional Rock band and our now legendary annual appearance in the St. Patrick's Day parade are all a big part of being in the FUNKY DRUMS SCHOOL. They are super exciting events to be part of and more importantly absolutely brilliant craic!
